According to applicable battery regulations, batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Proper disposal helps protect the environment and allows valuable raw materials to be recycled.

How to Dispose of Batteries Correctly

You are legally required to dispose of used batteries and rechargeable batteries separately. You can return them free of charge at the following locations:

  • Public collection points provided by your local municipality.
  • Retail stores that sell batteries or rechargeable batteries.
  • Kindermaxx. You may also send your used batteries back to us at the address listed above. We will ensure they are disposed of safely and free of charge.

Meaning of the Battery Symbol

Batteries containing hazardous substances are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. This symbol indicates that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with normal household waste.

Chemical Symbols

You may also find one or more of the following chemical symbols beneath the crossed-out bin. These indicate that the battery contains specific hazardous substances:

  • Pb – Battery contains lead.
  • Cd – Battery contains cadmium.
  • Hg – Battery contains mercury.
