Maxi-Cosi Pebble Slide Pro or Pebble 360 Pro²? The Complete Comparison

Maxi-Cosi Pebble Slide Pro or Pebble 360 Pro²?
Are you pregnant or expecting your first baby soon? Congratulations! You have probably already started putting together your baby essentials. A good infant car seat is one of the most important purchases for your baby. Before long, you are likely to come across Maxi-Cosi, one of the best-known car seat brands for many years.
But that is often where the confusion begins.
You see the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Slide Pro i-Size, the Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro² i-Size, the FamilyFix Slide Pro, the FamilyFix 360 Pro, the Pearl Slide Pro and the Pearl 360 Pro. The names are very similar, and both systems can rotate and slide towards you. As a result, it is not always immediately clear which products belong together.
At Kindermaxx we receive questions about this almost every day, both online and in our store:
- Which infant car seat is the newest?
- What is the difference between the Slide Pro and 360 Pro ranges?
- Which ISOFIX base do I need?
- Which next-stage car seat will fit my base later?
- Can I combine products from both ranges?
In this guide, we explain both Maxi-Cosi systems step by step. By the end, you will know exactly which combinations belong together and which range is the best fit for your family.
Why are the names so confusing?
The confusion is completely understandable. Maxi-Cosi has two premium product ranges with many similarities. Both consist of an infant car seat, an ISOFIX base and a next-stage toddler car seat. They meet current i-Size requirements and are designed to transport your child safely and comfortably from birth until around four years old.
However, they are two separate systems. The individual components are not designed to be mixed and matched at random. That is why it is important to consider not only the infant car seat when making your first purchase, but also the base and the toddler car seat you may want to use later.
The easiest way to remember it is: Slide Pro goes with Slide Pro, and 360 Pro goes with 360 Pro.
The two Maxi-Cosi systems explained
Think of the two product ranges as two separate families. Within each family, the infant car seat, the ISOFIX base and the next-stage car seat are designed to work together.
The latest Slide Pro range
The Slide Pro range is the latest generation. It has been developed for parents who value maximum freedom of movement, a generous sliding range and easy everyday use.
- Infant car seat: Maxi-Cosi Pebble Slide Pro i-Size
- ISOFIX base: Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix Slide Pro i-Size
- Next-stage car seat: Maxi-Cosi Pearl Slide Pro i-Size
With this combination, you use one base first with the Pebble Slide Pro and later with the Pearl Slide Pro. This gives you a complete system from birth until around four years old.
The trusted 360 Pro range
The 360 Pro range is the previous premium generation and remains a very complete system. It also offers a rotating and sliding base.
- Infant car seat: Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro² i-Size
- ISOFIX base: Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix 360 Pro i-Size
- Next-stage car seat: Maxi-Cosi Pearl 360 Pro i-Size
The 360 Pro range is therefore neither unsafe nor outdated. It is a proven system that still offers a high level of comfort and ease of use.
Which range is the newest?
The Maxi-Cosi Slide Pro range is the newest generation. Its main innovation is the further-developed SLIDETECH®2 technology. When used with the FamilyFix Slide Pro, the Pebble Slide Pro can rotate 90 degrees towards the car door and slide out by up to 27 centimetres.
The FamilyFix 360 Pro uses the first generation of SLIDETECH®. This also allows the Pebble 360 Pro² to rotate and slide towards you, but the sliding range is shorter. The main difference is therefore the improved everyday convenience, not that the older range would be unsafe.

What difference will you notice in everyday use?
On paper, the difference between 17 and 27 centimetres may not sound very large. In everyday use, however, the extra sliding distance can be very helpful. The infant car seat comes further towards you, so you do not have to bend as deeply into the car to place your baby in the seat, fasten the harness or lift your baby out.
This is especially useful if you have a low car, cannot fully open the door or travel with your child several times a day. After giving birth or if you have back problems, the larger sliding range can also make a noticeable difference.
The Pebble Slide Pro is also a lightweight infant car seat weighing approximately 3.9 kg. This makes it easier to move between the car, your home and the pushchair.
Are both infant car seats safe?
Yes. Both the Pebble Slide Pro and the Pebble 360 Pro² comply with the European UN R129 i-Size safety standard. Both models are designed for rear-facing travel and feature integrated G-CELL side-impact protection for additional protection in the event of a side collision.
You are therefore not choosing the Slide Pro because the Pebble 360 Pro² would be unsafe. The decision is mainly about the product generation, sliding range, ease of use and which base you may already own.
Can you combine the two ranges?
No, keep the two product ranges separate. Use the Pebble Slide Pro and Pearl Slide Pro with the FamilyFix Slide Pro. Use the Pebble 360 Pro² and Pearl 360 Pro with the FamilyFix 360 Pro.
| Correct combination | Do not combine |
|---|---|
| Slide Pro Pebble Slide Pro FamilyFix Slide Pro Pearl Slide Pro 360 Pro Pebble 360 Pro² FamilyFix 360 Pro Pearl 360 Pro |
Pebble Slide Pro + FamilyFix 360 Pro Pebble 360 Pro² + FamilyFix Slide Pro Pearl Slide Pro + FamilyFix 360 Pro Pearl 360 Pro + FamilyFix Slide Pro |
Always check the exact product name before buying. The additions Slide Pro, 360 Pro and Pro² are particularly important.
Which next-stage car seat will you need later?
Many new parents initially focus only on the infant car seat. However, it is worth considering the full system from the start. Once your child has outgrown the infant car seat, you can fit the matching next-stage car seat onto the same ISOFIX base.
Next-stage car seat for the Slide Pro range
Do you use the Pebble Slide Pro with the FamilyFix Slide Pro? You can later switch to the Maxi-Cosi Pearl Slide Pro i-Size. This next-stage car seat is intended for use from approximately three months to around four years old, depending on your child's height and the seat's conditions of use.
Next-stage car seat for the 360 Pro range
Do you use the Pebble 360 Pro² with the FamilyFix 360 Pro? The matching next-stage seat is the Maxi-Cosi Pearl 360 Pro i-Size. This seat also attaches to the same base you previously bought for the infant car seat.
When should you switch to the next-stage car seat?
The right time to switch is not determined by age alone. Pay particular attention to the permitted height range and the maximum weight of the infant car seat. The Pebble models are designed for children measuring approximately 40 to 87 cm.
Do not switch too early simply because your child appears to have less space. An infant car seat is specifically designed to support young babies correctly. A coat, footmuff or newborn insert can also make the seat feel temporarily tighter.
You must switch at the latest when your child reaches the maximum permitted height or weight. Always check the car seat manual and make sure the headrest and harness are adjusted correctly.
Which range is the best fit for you?
Choose the Slide Pro range if:

- you want the latest generation;
- you want the seat to slide as far towards you as possible;
- you place a high value on back-friendly lifting in and out of the car;
- you want to use the Pearl Slide Pro later.

- you are looking for a proven premium system;
- you can buy the Pebble 360 Pro² at an attractive price;
- the 17 cm sliding range is sufficient for your car;
- you want to use the Pearl 360 Pro later.

Avoiding common mistakes
Most incorrect purchases happen because parents focus only on the words “Pebble”, “Pearl” or “FamilyFix”. However, the full product name determines compatibility.
- Do not automatically order a base simply because “FamilyFix” appears in the name.
- Check whether all products say either “Slide Pro” or “360 Pro”.
- When buying a used base, always check the exact model name and product label.
- Decide at the first purchase which next-stage car seat you want to use later.
- Also check whether the chosen base fits your car correctly.

Our recommendation from Kindermaxx
If you are buying a complete system for the first time, we recommend the Slide Pro range in most cases. It gives you the latest generation, the greatest sliding range and a system designed from the outset for the Pebble Slide Pro and Pearl Slide Pro.
Do you already own a FamilyFix 360 Pro, or have you found an attractive offer on the Pebble 360 Pro² and Pearl 360 Pro? The 360 Pro range is still an excellent choice. Safety remains high, and the rotating and sliding mechanism continues to make everyday use comfortable.
Do not look only at the first infant car seat. Consider the complete system you want to use over the coming years. This helps you avoid an incorrect combination and means you already know which next-stage seat you will need later.
