How did the idea come about? - the history of PlanToys
The founder of PlanToys Vitool Viraponsavan grew up in the beautiful nature of Thailand and has always had a special relationship with this idyllic landscape. The region where he grew up from a child to a young man is mainly characterized by rubber tree forests. The rubber trees are used primarily for rubber production. But the trees can only donate the natural latex for a limited time, after which the trees are sorted out, cut down and burned. During his architecture studies, the idea developed that much more can be created from the wood of these trees and that they do not have to be senselessly disposed of. Together with friends, Vitool Viraponsavan founded PlanToys. A success story began. PlanToys wooden toys are manufactured according to strict guidelines. Sustainable and environmentally friendly production is the top priority. The production chain is improved down to the smallest detail. The smallest parts and leftovers of the rubber wood are sensibly used in the production of the children's toys. Responsible thinking and acting are a matter of course for Plantoys. For every tree used, a new tree is planted. All discarded trees are dried gently and without chemicals. Even the chips of the wood are carefully processed. Plantoys has developed a special process for this. Root parts, chips and wood scraps are processed under heat, pressure and with a formaldehyde-free glue to create an extremely durable material called "Planwood". Natural dyes are used for coloring.
